Programme Manager NERC £31,931 Full time (part time considered) Open Ended Swindon (remote hybrid) Would you like to be involved in exciting portfolio and delivery areas from earth to atmospheric science, from data innovation to energy, from post-graduate training to research infrastructure? You will engage with the academic community, business, and policy makers to invest in and maintain the UK's position at the forefront of environmental research and innovation both nationally and internationally. You will be working with the NERC community and other stakeholders from the public and private sectors and helping to maintain strong partnerships. You will be a member of the Strategic Partnerships Directorate that is responsible for maintaining, developing, and managing long-lasting mutually beneficial relationships with NERC's institutional-scale strategic investments and championing and advocating change across NERC, UKRI, and our stakeholder communities to enable delivery of NERC priorities: with a focus on digital technologies, interdisciplinary working, and the use of NERC facilities and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities As a Programme Manager in the IPDM team you will contribute towards: • Gathering, understanding, and integrating internal and external information about the research and innovation landscape and the NERC portfolio, and using information effectively to support NERC's activities and UK environmental science. • Operation of peer review and other formal decision-making processes for funding delivery • Working with external stakeholders, building, and managing mutually beneficial strategic relationships, and using them to advance NERC's strategic goals • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on activities and investments, to maximise the delivery of benefits to environmental science • Working across teams within NERC and across UKRI to ensure cross portfolio understanding and joint initiatives as appropriate, as well as implementing.
