Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent planning consultancy on the hire of a Graduate Town Planner to their team in Sunderland. This is a permanent position. Our client provides pragmatic, commercially astute and clear town planning support to a wide variety of both private and public sector clients nationwide. As a Graduate Planner, you will provide support to the wider planning team on planning applications and projects across a mix of sectors such as housing, commercial, roadside, industrial, healthcare, education, energy and minerals and waste. Working in a small but experienced and growing team of planners (inside a larger wider team of 50), you will provide the following services to your clients; Community Engagement Environmental Impact backssments Planning Appeals Land and Site Promotion Local Plan Consultation Mineral Safeguarding backssment Planning Strategy formulation Planning Due Diligence Permitted Development Rights Planning Applications Planning Obligation Negotiations Site Identification Qualifications and Experience Required An RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline. Previous work experience that can come from a work placement or be currently employed. Good communication skills. Solid report writing skills. Understanding of the UK planning process. An openness to seek support / assistance from senior colleagues when struggling to fulfil tasks.
