Term of App't: Monday - Friday, 30 hours per week Start date: Immediately Reporting to: Dean of Trades & Apprenticeships Salary: $62,740.00 - $74,525.00 per annum, as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum salary of $96,085.00. Instructional faculty employees receive 240 hours of vacation annually, pro-rated and front-loaded, based on FTE, as well as time off paid between the Christmas and New Year's Day period. We offer an extremely competitive extended health and dental program, along with MSP (provincial health) coverage. Description: Northern Lights College is seeking a full time instructor to be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of the Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program. This program is intended to introduce students with an opportunity to sample trades, and is designed help students gain a clearer understanding of the standards, material, instructional methods and academic performance associated with apprenticeship training. Qualifications: The Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program instructor will possess Journeyman Certification (Red Seal) in either Carpentry or Automotive Mechanics, or a combination of equivalent education and training may be considered. Experience in teaching others or currently holding or enrolled in the Provincial Instructor Diploma program would be an asset. Preference will be given to those who have completed formal training leading to certification. Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of computer software applications (including MS Word, Excel and Outlook) would be preferred. A valid BC Driver's License is required.
