A well-known Health Services located in Philadelphia, PA has an immediate need for a Behavioral Health Technician Type: HC-Full-Time/ Perm Location: Philadelphia, PA Summary: To promote the mission of facility to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. Provide intensive therapeutic interventions with children and families in the form of assessments, individual, group and family therapy Provide direct care, support, structure, skill building and therapeutic interventions per the youth's individualized treatment plan Ensure utilization of approved evidenced based models and that needs of the youth and family are being met Provide quality, trauma informed services in the home, school and community. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand and sit for extended periods. Ability to pass training on crisis intervention and defensive procedures. Follow through on decisions. Complete task assignments within required time frame Maintain high morale and cooperate with your team and with other departments Support a culture of trust, integrity and confidence by: Conducting yourself in an ethical and professional manner in working with individuals whom we serve, families, the community at large, co-workers, colleagues from other organizations, funding sources, etc., through: Knowing Code of Conduct and adhering to it Respecting the confidentiality of the individuals whom we serve and ensuring you are knowledgeable and adhere to policies and procedures regarding confidentiality Maintain all credentialing standards and requirements for your position and continually enhance your own knowledge and expertise and share this effectively with your team Follow through on commitments you have made Accept appropriate delegation Ensure that quality services are continually provided: Identify programmatic issues, develop recommendations and present them to your supervisor Keep your supervisor informed of progress and issues Adhere to your schedule to assure appropriate coverage at all times Respond in a timely manner to program/departmental emergencies and unusual circumstances and inform your supervisor as soon as possible Be conscientious and exhibit cost consciousness Work cooperatively with other departments within Represent facility and your program at both internal and external meetings, as requested Submit leave requests in accordance with department procedures to assure that the needs of the department can be balanced with individual requests Complete timekeeping per agency procedures Attend all mandated trainings within required timeframe and request approval for staff development opportunities as relevant to promote growth and skill building Performing all other duties as assigned SPECIFIC DUTIES: Be knowledgeable and ensure compliance with all Intensive Behavior Health Services (IBHS) regulations, standards and expectations. Provide intensive therapeutic interventions per treatment plan and utilizing evidence-based practices with assigned youth and families. Interventions may be individual, in a group and/or with a family. Provide time structured activities to support skill building and goal achievement. Includes implementing behavior supports to assist youth in their participation in activities such as summer camps, community and school events and sports. Provide praise, support and guidance to enhance pro-social behaviors. Includes modeling, positive reinforcement, and role playing. Provide interventions with assigned youth per written order. Services may be based in the home, school, community or all the above. Prompt safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to support a youth in building skills. Fade prompts appropriately to promote independent use of replacement behaviors. Provide crisis intervention and management as needed using a crisis resolution model. Be knowledgeable about each youth's treatment and crisis/safety plan and deliver interventions that are developmentally appropriate, strengths-based and trauma informed. Monitor therapeutic interventions for effectiveness and collaborate with team on effectiveness and challenges. Attend interagency meetings, as assigned, to ensure coordination of treatment planning and recommendations, to identify progress and barriers, and to ensure integration among all team members. Participate and accurately record data in daily reports for functional behavior analysis. Report findings to treatment team. Provide consultation, education, support to treatment team, family and school personnel to enhance a sense of competence. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely, comprehensive and legible manner and is in accordance with policies and procedures Collaborate regularly with treatment team members including school, family and other service providers. Attend and participate in team meetings and be prepared to report progress and any barriers or challenges. Contribute to quality improvement/outcome measurement tracking and data gathering as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services field Bachelor's degree in other field and one (1) year experience providing direct mental health services High School diploma or equivalent with documented completion of RBT training and certification A minimum of two (2) years experience in the provision of behavior health services Certified as an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Certified as a BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysis) Certified as a BCAT (Board Certified Autism Technician) Skills: Consistently display a positive attitude Exercise sound judgment Demonstrate effective communication skills Maintain a professional demeanor Demonstrate integrity Take initiative Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills Utilize effective problem-solving skills Good and able to use an electronic health record Strong communication and organizational skills.
