Description Child Life Specialist - Social Services at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA The Child Life Specialist plans and implements a Child Life Program which is focused upon the emotional and developmental needs of the hospitalized child, adolescent, and family. S/he works with members of the Medical, Nursing, Social Service, Chaplaincy, and Volunteer Services staff to provide a comprehensive and integrated range of therapeutic activities. Utilizes age related concepts when communicating with patients and families, administering medications, using medical equipment, participating in diagnostic or other procedures and when teaching Patients/Families.
