Senior Accountant - Hybrid Remote

New Growth fueled role with Media Company reporting to an experienced CPA. This is an ideal role for someone that has interest in moving towards a leadership role within two years. Benefits are highly competitive with 2 days in office per week, 18 days PTO, 13 paid holidays, bonus plan, 401 K match and 5 health plans to choose from. Responsible for month end close processes for subsidiaries and affiliated entities, and supporting the VP of Compliance, Investor Relations and Subsidiary Reporting with monthly reporting and planning. Maintain programming assets and related amortization schedules. Assist with various tax compliance activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Assets Accounting Maintain programming assets and liability records for subsidiaries and affiliated entities as assigned, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure proper accounting for program assets and liabilities. Work with Programming team to manage program runs usage to avoid excess amortization cost. Reconcile amortization schedules, programming assets and liabilities to the general ledger. Assist in the preparation of annual audit schedules. Assist with process improvements, including transitioning of the program assets management process from Excel to Wide Orbit Program. Digital Revenue Accounting Post monthly journal entries for digital revenue related transactions. Reconcile digital revenue receivables to the general ledger on a monthly basis. Monitor digital revenue receivable balances and provide timely risk assessments to management. Fixed Asset Tracking · Input fixed asset information into the fixed asset module, ensuring compliance with company capitalization and depreciation policy.· Reconcile fixed assets on a monthly basis. Month End Close · Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.· Review and validate intercompany transactions.· Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules.· Produce monthly financial statements and assist with variance analysis.· Collaborate with team members on special projects as needed. Tax Compliance Support · Assist Manager with preparation of schedules for various tax compliance functions including the timely filing of:· Sales tax returns for the streaming business and maintenance of associated balance sheet reconciliations.· Annual foreign persons tax withholding forms (Form 1042 and 1042s), annual personal property tax returns and annual 1099 forms.· Assist with tax compliance related to foreign persons tax withholding deposits and maintenance of associated balance sheet reconciliations.· Assist with the preparation of schedules for quarterly and year-end tax estimates. Qualifications and experience required :· Must be highly collaborative, dependable, organized, self-motivating, and a team player.· Must possess the highest personal and professional ethical standards, integrity and honesty.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Proven time management and multi-task management capabilities· Ability to communicate clearly, and develop solid working relationships with management, staff, and peers.· Strong desire to improve processes and controls. Education/Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Finance or Accounting from four-year college or university and four plus years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Public accounting experience strongly preferred. Hands on experience in accounting, planning, financial analysis, and understanding of financial statements. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. Certificates and Licenses CPA track a plusPowered by JazzHR
