Sr Staff Accountant

Description:
Purpose: Responsible for processing accounting entries, extracting data, and preparing schedules, reconciling accounts and expenditure reports, and assisting with budgets and month-end closings. Work with other departments regarding questions and problem solving. Primary Duties: Performs a variety of accounting-related reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and information: Analyzes a variety of financial information and data, including month end financial statement, expenditures, and key financial metrics. Balance sheet accounts. Performs month-end close process: Meets corporate cut-off and close schedule. Prepares and enters journal entries for allocations, sales, purchases, adjustments, re-classes, depreciation, and other related information. Prepares a variety of routine reports and spreadsheets related to financial activities for management. Follow all safety rules and procedures. Fully participate and support all safety initiatives. Think safety and continually scan the work environment; make suggestions for corrections and improvements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience Knowledge of: Liability and asset accounts. Account reconciliation practices, procedures, and techniques. General ledger accounting including Journal entry preparation. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Basic computerized data processing principles. Skills: Using a computer and related financial management software applications. Microsoft Excel knowledge Microsoft Dynamics and Tower a plus. Effective and clear communication skills. Teamwork skills. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and stressful work environment. Experience: Three to five years’ experience.
