Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Analytics & Insights, the Analytics & Insights Manager will be responsible for gathering data from multiple sources, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide meaningful insights to internal partners within Commit and external partners; clearly and concisely communicating findings to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership. Overall, this position will provide exploratory and research-based findings to drive the work of the Commit Partnership. This role will collaborate closely with members of the Commit team and statewide clients whose work ranges from Early Childhood Education to College Access & Success and Workforce. The Analytics & Insights Manager will manage a team of 2-3 Analytics Associates and oversee their coaching and development. This position will also support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new analytics staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze a variety of data from early childhood to workforce, both collaboratively and independently, to identify and extract actionable insights (e.g. trends, patterns, root causes) aligned with the Commit Partnership goals Independently and in collaboration with the A&I team, will plan and execute data analysis and research leading to actionable insights for internal and external clients Develop and present content for partners at school districts, community organizations, public agencies, legislative offices, and investor levels to highlight needs, opportunities, and progress toward social outcome goals Collaborate with cross-functional teams and community partners to understand their data needs and provide support and capacity building in fulfilling those requirements Demonstrate good client service and relationship management in serving as the point of contact between the Analytics & Insights Team and multiple partners within and beyond Commit Partnership Leverages visualization techniques and tools to create interactive dashboards for stakeholders and leadership. Work extensively in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI, and Alteryx, and potentially in ArcGIS, and SQL Identify and propose ways to automate/improve existing processes in assigned respective areas of work with the help of technology Provide analytics support to Commit’s leadership team as well as partner-facing teams. Develop analytical tools to support partner programs and conduct specific analyses to support strategies on key education priorities. Engage in new, complex challenges with team and community members Participate in the feedback loop between data intake and insights and work to improve the data collection process Manages the Analytics & Insights team by providing coaching, counseling, training opportunities and growth opportunities Performs other duties as assigned Education and/or Experience Required (Minimum): Bachelor’s degree in data management or related field and/or equivalent training and work experience 4+ years in strategy consulting, nonprofit or social impact strategic planning, and/or data analytics work in public education is a plus Highly detail-oriented and accuracy and a self-starter Strong business and analytical thinking, as well as hands-on execution skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a must Experience with data processing software such as Alteryx or similar software Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, PowerBI, or other platforms Experience developing data analysis strategies to develop insights, build improvement plans, and measure impact Have extensive experience working in a PK-12 years school district Preferred: Graduate degree SQL Local knowledge of Dallas County or Tarrant County and/or Texas Required Licenses (if applicable): Language Skills: Ability to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate. Ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Ability to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and write in Standard English. Ability to articulate the levers that influence data. The ability to delineate problems leverages data to determine root causes and applies information to find solutions. Ability to balance multiple projects and be able to prioritize to meet strict deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Ability to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Ability to listen perceptively and convey awareness. Ability to interact diplomatically with the public in a continuous public contact setting. Ability to work as part of a team and in a team environment. Ability to maintain level-headedness in the face of resistance and contrary opinions.
