Para-Transit Driver - Part-Time PositionLocation: Fredericton, NBPWTransit is seeking a part-time Para-Transit Bus Driver to join our team in Fredericton. We offer competitive wages, ongoing training and development, and a family-oriented team environment. Drivers will be responsible for safely transporting passengers while providing superior customer service and demonstrating strong communication skills.This position will offer approximately 10-15 hours per week.PWTransit Canada is an industry leader in the delivery of safe and customer focused transit services throughout Canada. Currently operating services in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick.Responsibilities * Transport registered customers in accordance with City and Company policies, observing all traffic laws and safety rules while adhering to schedules * Complete a variety of vehicle and incident reports as required; carry out emergency/accident procedures when required * Courteously and professionally interact with customers, including loading mobility devices and escorting customers to and from curbside as required, answer inquiries on route, make general announcements to customers, collect correct fares, and ensure valid passes are presented, and arrange for passenger pick-up and drop-off as required * Interface with on-board tablet running dynamic routing/dispatch application program * Perform duties efficiently with the objective of maximizing rides delivered within established budget/vehicle hours * Conduct vehicle pre/post-trip inspections, reporting defects for attention/rectification by maintenance departmentQualifications * Valid unrestricted Class 4 (or higher) driver's license with a demonstrated record of safe and responsible driving over the past 5 years (driver's abstract will be requested) * Proven skills dealing effectively with the public, including demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving, and sound decision-making in positions providing customer service * Ability to understand, speak, and write English to communicate effectively with the traveling public and report on incidents involving safety and/or service * Willing to work early mornings, late evenings, split shifts and on Saturdays, subject to shift selection processes * No criminal convictions or pending charges relating directly to the driver/operator position * Previous experience working with individuals with physical or cognitive disabilitiesAdditional Information * A good knowledge of the Fredericton area is an asset * Selected applicants will be required to participate in a comprehensive recruitment process consisting of interviews, trainability session, medical examination (as may be required for driver licensing), drug and alcohol screening, criminal record and reference checks
