Description:
The scheduler you will work closely with our construction and operations team to develop the overall schedule of project completion. The scheduler will be responsible for building and updating schedules at various milestones, as project deliverables are completed, and as scopes of work are added to a project, and to provide updates to key team members and our clients on the progress of project completion. Reporting Structure: This position will report to the Operations Manager. Location: This position will operate out of the office in either Fuquay-Varina or Charlotte. Visits to jobsites and Travel to the Charlotte office will be required. Responsibilities: Work closely with preconstruction manager, project managers, engineers, superintendents, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction. Develop all schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM). Work with the in-house VDC team to schedule preconstruction activities. Develop preliminary level 1 schedules to be included in proposals. Assist the Project Manager with the development of the WBS. Resource load, cost load and baseline project schedules. Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with project teams and clients. Collaboratively work with respective disciplines, leadership, and client for, "buy-in" of the final schedule before issuing to the field. Monitors project progress and update schedules as needed. Analyze critical paths, identify potential risks or delays, and collaborate with the project team to develop contingency plans for those delays. Ability to develop a simulated sequence of construction by linking a 3D BIM Model and the schedule together, creating the 4D schedule. Update and maintain schedules in either MS Project or P6. Use this information to produce earned value and productivity reports when updating the project schedule. Assists with development of the construction three-week look-ahead schedule(s). Ability to update and manage a portfolio of several projects running concurrently. Ability to generate KPI Reports in P6. Travel to projects sites and other offices as needed to participate in project meetings, develop schedules of project completion, and update schedules to identify work completed at the project sites. Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages on construction activities as well as general conditions. Inform company management and clients of all schedule updates. Familiar with the concept of fragnets utilized to represent a change or delay. Monitor progress against the established baselines. Communicates schedule status to operations management regularly. Qualifications: 5+ years of scheduling experience on industrial construction and maintenance projects. PMI – SP certification preferred but not required. Strong understanding of Critical Path Method concepts. Proficiency in Primavera (P6) and MS Project. Proficient in Earned Value Management. Must be able to multitask, work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be Perficient in MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills Work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment within the organization. This position is regularly required to: Walk, climb stairs, sit, squat, and stand. Speak clearly and hear at normal levels. Operate a motor vehicle. Able to negotiate the hazards commonly associated with an industrial construction worksite Physical Demands General: These items are required as a condition of employment: You must pass a motor vehicle report (MVR) to InServ requirements. You must have a current NC Driver’s License. You must pass a background check and drug test. You must provide proof of US citizenship.
