CNC Machinist - Tool Maker

What you will be responsible for: The CNC Machinist is responsible for s etting up and operating machine tools such as CNC lathes, milling machines, EDM equipment. They will also maintain injection molding molds throughout their lifecycles in order to create acceptable medical device components by performing the following duties. How you will contribute: Studies Solid Works drawings, sketches, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measures, marks, and scribes’ dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining utilizing instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauge blocks and tool maker smart scope. Selects, aligns, secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as milling machines, lathes, EDM equipment as well as any new machinery that is acquired. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. Modify, repair and maintain injection molds. Assemble new injection molds and make revisions as necessary to achieve acceptable parts. Fit and assemble inserts in completed molds. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office applications. Ability to use cam software to program computerized equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Education / Experience: High School or GED Equivalent. 2+ years minimum machinist and/or tool making experience.
