Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/13/2024 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel First Time Travelers Accepted Shift Requirements: 4x12 Nights *** Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract *** Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need *** Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Certification Requirements: ACLS and BCLS; NIH Preferred Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Year Experience Telemetry – on unit monitoring IV insulin protocols and Tirtration of insulin drips Feeding tube care and management Pre/post hemodialysis management Blood product administration Monitoring Chemotherapy Heparin protocols Manage cardia drips – no titration External CPA/Bi PAP High Flow Nasal Cannula Isolation Precautions Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals Staffing Ratios: 1:4 Unit Information: Medical PCU - almost ICU level acuity - multiple cardiac drips. Stable vents. Multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided. Genie Healthcare Job ID #2470924.
