Summary: If you enjoy working outdoors as a leader and have maintenance experience, this role maybe for you! This position supervises various site maintenance projects, staff, and property development at various council camp properties. The Director of Facilities acts as a resource to volunteers and staff. To be successful in this role you will need to be adaptable, have excellent time management skills, and show a high level of proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities include management of the maintenance and physical improvements for the council's real estate, buildings, facilities, and vehicles. The Director of Facilities will delegate tasks as needed through a staff of site managers/rangers and contractors. You will be expected to maximizes the safety, usability, and attractiveness of all council real estate and physical assets in compliance with policies, state/local health and safety guidelines. The Director will provide oversight for staff, facilities, repair and capital projects. The organizational policies and programs will be utilized to facilitate a positive relationship among staff and volunteers. Job Summary: The Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is a 110 year old organization that serves the western Kentucky and Southern Indiana region. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and a memorable experience for our members. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Facilities to join our team and ensure the flawless operation and maintenance of our facilities across the council (Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana). As the Director of Facilities you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our properties' physical assets, ensuring the safety and comfort of our visitors, volunteers, and staff. You will be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with external/internal stakeholders, creating and maintaining budgets, and take the lead on capital projects according to established guidelines to ensure that they are ready for use and occupancy. Develops and maintains community resources in support of the GS mission. Act as a resource manager to volunteers and provide excellent customer service to campers through communication. You will also help develop and guide the Site Rangers and Managers to ensure our Facilities Department is the best it can be. Recommend ideas for camp development and maintenance. Qualified applicants must be able to demonstrate joint accountability for all council operational goals by working beyond the boundaries of the job description and department as required for the success of the council. Provides supervision to all contract service providers, acts as a leader for staff and volunteers. Key Responsibilities : Creating and monitoring the facility's budget Scheduling and managing routine maintenance on all building systems Act as a supervisor to Site Managers and Site Rangers Maintains and builds relationships with vendors and community members Mitigating risk and overseeing safety and security Mediates in conflict resolution Flexibility in working weekends and evenings as needed Inspecting the facility routinely to look for issues Overseeing all contractors that work with the facility Models leadership in proactive communication among internal and external stake holders Ensuring the facility complies with relevant laws, regulations and safety standards Handling long-range planning to support future needs and growth Helping with plans for renovations, additions or new buildings Other duties as assigned Preferred Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience Minimum of 5 years facility management experience Specific Skills and Requirements: A belief in the mission of Girl Scouts and the ability to articulate it to others Knowledge and demonstrated skills in the trades needed for general maintenance Demonstrated leadership, collaborative management, and interpersonal skills Facilitate conflict resolution and proactively research/implement solutions in a positive manner Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills Keep accurate and timely reports of budgetary and maintenance related projects Has the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently The ability to make decisions with imperfect information Must possess analytical skills with particular attention to detail The ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining deadlines Motivated self-starter Organizational Requirements: Willingness to work flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends Professional appearance, warm demeanor, positive attitude Adaptability to work both as a team member and as leader Ability to successfully pass a background check Work in tandem with the Business Office to help ensure exemplary accounting record keeping Proof of meeting state requirements regarding driver's license, and liability insurance, if applicable Subscribe to the principals of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of Girl Scouts Each employee has the responsibility for actively supporting and promoting the Council's commitment to diversity and for developing Council resources through increased membership, strengthening community connections, serving girls and fund development Working Conditions and Environment : Non-traditional work hours expected This position requires working in the internal and external environments Travel to other camps and offices as needed Physical Requirements: The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Must be able to lift or move up to 25lbs Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus For the full job description please visit our website.
