Volt is immediately hiring for Saw Shear Operator for a company located in Southgate, CA. As a Saw Shear operator, you will: * Obtaining and transferring stock to machine by forklift or overhead crane. * Installing saw blade and sets blade tension and cutting speed for specified operation; setting saw blade angle to obtain desired angle cuts; setting stops and guides to control dimension of cut; positioning and securing stock against stops or in feeding device using straps or chains; turning valve to start flow of coolant against cutting area; starting machine and observing operation. * Measuring work for conformance to specifications. * Marking and identifying data on workpiece. * Steel Stamping letters and numbers on work piece. * Replacing finished work on pallets or barrels. * Replacing defective cutting blade. * Preparing data sheets of cut material and remnants. This is a full time opportunity. 5 days a week. 8+ hours per day. Shift: 2nd shift 3:00PM- 11:30PM The ideal candidate will have: * High school diploma or equivalent is required. * 2 - 4 years of related experience is required. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of Company. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. * Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
