SUMMARY: The position of CNC Machinist is responsible for the operation of metal manufacturing equipment, including tool maintenance. The CNC Machinist will ensure that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. May be responsible for operating advanced inspection equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ( includes the following but other duties may be assigned) Set-up moderately complex jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose, and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate medical device parts Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, and grinders Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and enter command to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media; observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media, as required Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to programmed control data ensuring functionality and performance Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media, as required Verify dimensions using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gages, and gage blocks Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems Complete essential documentation, as required Maintain a clean work area and ensure safe operation of all equipment Perform and document Operator Preventive Maintenance operations, as needed QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school degree, or equivalent, required Based on level, 1 to 3 or more years CNC machining experience or demonstrated performance, preferred Grinding and Mill experience, preferred OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Able to work with minimal supervision Excellent problem-solving skills Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly Able to read blueprints Knowledge of GD&T BENEFITS: Compressed 4-Day Week Competitive Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Group Medical Coverage Dental/Vision Coverage Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Referral Bonuses Attendance Bonuses 401(K) Retirement Plan
