Job Title: Principal Software Engineer (PSE) Department: R&D- Transplant Management Reporting to : Manager of Software Engineering Location: Remote in the continental USA. Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM Pacific Time. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime. Overview : The Principal Software Engineer (PSE) role is a key technical leader who will play a pivotal role in guiding the design and development of our software products and platform. The PSE is a hands-on software development, code review and mentoring role. The PSE ensures reliable execution of complex development projects and related support activities in a demanding, fast-paced environment while also engaging in process improvements and upskilling efforts. Working closely with Manager of Software Engineering, Software Engineers, Product Managers, the PSE confidently leads and supports a high-velocity development team to achieve predictable, high-quality software releases and responsive support for our customers. You have led technical development teams, and substantial, multi-year full-stack experience with application development using C# and .NET which enables you to lead and drive complex software architecture and design discussions as well as contribute with hands-on code implementation, code reviews and troubleshooting as needed. You base your analyses, recommendations, and decisions on facts and data and are skilled in surfacing important details and trends. Collaborative by nature, our ideal PSE has a true passion for enabling efficient development teams and successfully delivering large projects. Essential Functions: Mentor a team of software engineers while actively participating in hands-on coding and code reviews as needed. Drive the development and on-time delivery of high-quality software products and solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and other departments to define and evaluate project scope, goals, deliverables. and estimates. Participate in, drive, and oversee complex technical challenges, implementations, code reviews, architectural discussions, and other key concerns that affect code quality and reliability of releases. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and stay abreast of industry trends and evolving best practices. Participate in support activities as needed. Assist upper management in building and maintaining dashboards and reports to track KPIs, metrics, and trends. Provide status updates and detailed analyses/reports on a weekly basis to relevant management. Develop detailed knowledge of InVita’s products and establish yourself as a subject matter expert. Travel to Company offices as needed. Other duties, as necessary. Qualifications: 8+ years of full-stack experience with C# and .NET. 4+ years of experience technically leading a team of software developers. Experience in designing, developing and deploying web applications. Experience in software development using microservices architecture and strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker). Experience with ORM libraries such as Entity Framework. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. Experience with modern CI/CD tools like Bamboo, BitBucket, and Octopus Deploy. Excellent skills in software architecture, design patterns and the ability to quickly analyze, understand, and resolve complex problems. Solid interpersonal skills. Logical and efficient working style, with keen attention to detail. Superb verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
