Hanover Technology Group is hiring a Network Infrastructure Manager for our Data Network Services team in our Worcester, MA or remote work arrangement. This is a full time, exempt position. POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director of Data Network Services, the Network Infrastructure Manager will lead a team of Managed Service Provider (MSP) engineers, employees, and contractors with diverse skills that collectively deliver reliable and scalable network infrastructure platforms. The network infrastructure engineering and operations team is responsible for the engineering, installation, configuration, security, performance, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise and cloud network infrastructure. This scope includes but is not limited to, local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), virtual networks (vNets), datacenter fabrics, application delivery controllers (ADC), VPN technologies, wireless technologies, and associated operating systems, protocols, and devices. The individual recommends upgrades and improvements and resolves complex systems issues and problems. They will serve as corporate steward of network integrity, resiliency, and capacity while working with IT, managed services partners, business partners, and vendors to support the infrastructure needs of the company, all while serving as mentor to other engineers of the infrastructure team. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Lead Data Network engineering and operations team responsible for the engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of: Local and wide-area networking equipment, operating systems, and associated components. Local and wide-area networking links, circuits, equipment, and associated components. Datacenter fabric infrastructure and associated components. Application Delivery Controller technologies. VPN networking technologies. Wireless networking technologies. DNS, DHCP, IPAM technologies. VoIP transport circuits and Session Border Controller (SBC) devices. High Availability, Redundancy solutions and technologies. Network Monitoring systems. Set operational direction and priority for both onshore and offshore Managed Services network personnel. In collaboration with the MSP, provide Tier 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve all networking infrastructure and equipment problems, including configuration, hardware, and software problems, in a timely and effective manner. Manage the delivery and execution of network engineering projects through demand management processes. Assist with project management efforts when necessary to drive key network objectives. Own, triage, and document mitigation efforts on all P1 and P2 issues. Support the timely patching and upgrading of all infrastructure, including security vulnerability patching and remediation. Work with subject matter experts in the IT department to streamline workflows and processes. Work with responsible parties to ensure efficient and thorough support of regulatory requirements and auditing processes. Develop, define, review, and enforce infrastructure policy, standards, and guidelines to support business operations and technology implementations. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to solve business challenges and ensure environments remain current. Implement cost management strategies by leveraging innovation and maximize service value to business. Employ solid risk and security management practices, creative solutions, and suitable business judgement in delivering business solutions; ensures adherence to regulatory standards as well as compliance and confidentiality policies. Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise. Analyze the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Responsible for coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and overall talent management building diverse and high-performing teams. Work closely with and manage strategic vendor and partner relationships. Partner with vendor management and strategic sourcing partners to formulate sourcing strategies and approaches including the optimization of internal resources WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: 7+ years of experience leading a team of network engineers and operations members possessing various levels of experience from junior through senior level. Associate's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required, Bachelor's degree perferred. Experience leading through teaching and mentoring. Proven troubleshooting skills. Project management, and time management skills. Experience with enterprise change management practices. Familiarity with ITIL service management frameworks and practices. Experience supporting geographically disperse enterprise networks, and the myriad applications, protocols, and technologies operating over them, including voice, video, and data. Experience with Cisco enterprise routing, switching and datacenter fabrics. Experience with network load-balancing, VPN, and VoIP technologies. Experience managing Managed Services resources with offshore personnel including the coordination and tracking of deliverables. Knowledge of Azure networking capabilities. Ability to work in a highly collaborative and highly matrixed, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transparent, and flexible work environment. Experience providing leadership for delivery of 24/7 Networking services and operations. Experience providing leadership for disaster recovery operations. Ability to build strong insightful relationships quickly; must have top-notch communication skills (oral and written); must be able to network effectively at all levels but especially at the executive and business partner level. Strategic and insightful thinking, with good judgment, and an intuitive sense of where to look for opportunities to support the business from a technology standpoint. Promotes collaboration, accountability, respect, empowerment, recognition, and provides ongoing coaching to employees. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 8-10 years of professional experience in IT network engineering and operations including team leadership. Strong understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, protocols, and designs. Experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms including ISR and ASR routing platforms, Catalyst routing and switching platforms, Nexus platforms. Familiarity with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS operating systems. Familiarity with common Cisco L2 & L3 protocols, LACP, port-channels, vPC, VRF, VRRP, HSRP, and other common HA and redundancy features. Familiarity with Cisco ACI fabrics and infrastructure. Familiarity with F5 platforms including LTM, iRules, APM and associated polices, ASM, and GTM Familiarity with common LAN/WAN routing protocols including (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and others) Familiarity with Citrix NetScaler, Familiarity with Infoblox Familiarity with Aruba Wireless Networking Familiarity with scripting and automation tools. Familiarity with Cloud based networking in Azure. Familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating Systems Familiarity with foundational enterprise technologies such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, LDAP, Syslog, and Monitoring systems.
