Additional responsibilities include mounting or stripping plates, preparing inks, cleaning press components, and performing basic housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks as required. **Key Duties and Responsibilities:**- Carry out standard press operations to support the production department.- Review the job ticket and collaborate with the Press Helper to ensure the job is set up correctly on the press as per the required specifications and job notes (ink, dies, stock, plates).- Execute the job setup on the press and log data related to the job setup in the system.- Operate the job as per specifications and log upon completion, noting the material used, etc.- While operating the press, inspect printed rolls for quality and consistency, paying attention to all aspects of the labels including color registration and die cut.- Upon job completion, transfer the finished roll to the finishing department and clean and prepare the machine for the next job.- Communicate with the Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager regarding any issues with the labels and dies.- Ensure accurate data collection for each job, including job notes on material and time variance.- Perform basic troubleshooting of the press in collaboration with the Press Helper and Supervisor.- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and machines, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and undertake additional press operator training when offered or necessary.- Perform additional duties as required. **Qualifications:**- High School diploma or equivalent.- Minimum of three years of press operator or related printing production experience. **Skills and Abilities:**- Excellent communication skills.- Proactive and detail-oriented, able to identify problems or inconsistencies and bring them to management's attention.- Good organizational skills, able to manage multiple different labels each day.- Knowledge of press operation and basic troubleshooting.- Mechanically inclined, able to understand the basics of press operation and maintenance. **Physical Demands:**- Constant lifting, standing, crouching, walking, and associated repetitive tasks.- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 pounds with assistance.- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random drug screening. **Work Environment:**- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.- Warehouse temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.- Regular skin and clothing exposure to ink. **Personal Protective Equipment:**- Safety shoes and eye protection are highly recommended in the production area.
