Job Responsibilities Inspection, diagnosis and repair of trailers through preventative and scheduled maintenance, trailer frames electrical systems; landing gear assemblies and trailer bodies; suspensions systems; tires, wheels; hubs and axles; air and auxiliary systems; braking systems; heating and refrigeration systems; roof repairs; hitching/coupling systems; as well as ventilation devices. Thoroughly inspecting trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operations Preventative maintenance on trailer and mechanical parts Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications Troubleshooting and able to look at mechanical, electrical systems, identify problems, and think about and perform possible solutions Familiar with electronics and be able to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs. Effectively communicate with Supervisor on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility, following company safety policies and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems.
