This position will have specialized knowledge in packaging machinery and processes, as well as a strong focus on leadership and team management. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and operating various packaging machines and ensuring that all products are packaged safely and efficiently. Main aspects of the role include: Set up and operate packaging machinery, including but not limited to filling, labeling, and sealing machines. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. Ensure that all packaging materials meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations. Collaborate with other departments, including quality control, maintenance, and production planning, to ensure that all packaging processes are aligned and efficient. Ensure that all packaging operators adhere to safety protocols and report any safety incidents immediately. Hourly pay: $23.77 (see chart below) with $1.00 differential for night shift Estimated Weekly Earnings &Effective Hourly Rate for Hours Worked POSITION Packaging Operator EFFECTIVE RATE Regular Hourly Rate: $ 23.77 Overtime Hourly Rate: $ 35.66 SCHEDULED HOURS Based on 84 hr two-week pay period (70 reg & 14 OT) Weekly Avg Scheduled Regular Hours: 35 Weekly Avg Scheduled Overtime Hours: 7 WEEKLY ESTIMATED EARNINGS Weekly Estimated Regular Earnings: $ 800.10 Weekly Estimated Overtime Earnings: $ 240.03 Total Weekly Estimated Earnings: $ 1040.13 EFFECTIVE HOURLY RATE, WEEKLY "Effective" Hourly Rate Comparable to Jobs w/o Built-in OT (standard 40-hr work week): $ 24.76 Working schedule: Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM / Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM MON TUE WED THUR FRI SAT SUN Week 1 Off Off Work Work Off Off Off Week 2 Work Work Off Off Work Work Work You! The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical training preferred. At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on leadership and team management. It is essential for this person to have organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills. This person should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time is necessary. This candidate should have the ability to work 12 hour day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
