Pay:54,600 Annually Position Summary:This position is in the Medicaid Fraud Unit.The Attorney Generals Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is a Florida:certified law enforcement agency. The duties of this position require a state:certified law enforcement officer, who is required to bear firearms and must maintain certification as a law enforcement officer pursuant to Chapter 943, Florida Statutes. The incumbent possesses the power of arrest pursuant to section 409.9205, Florida Statutes, and is charged withenforcing all matters addressed in 409.920, Florida Statutes.These matters include but are not limited to fraud against the Medicaid Program, false claims against the Medicaid program, investigating possible criminal violations of any applicable state law pertaining to fraud in the administration of the Medicaid program, investigation of alleged abuse or neglect of patients, investigate the alleged misappropriation of patients private funds in health care facilities. This is independent work conducting investigations of alleged violations of applicable laws pertaining to Medicaid fraud in the administration of the Medicaid program and/or the alleged abuse or neglect of patients in healthcare facilities governed by the State Medicaid program.An employee in this position of Law Enforcement Investigator II performs work that may include performing all aspects of Medicaid fraud investigations. This work includes but is not limited to entering upon the premises of healthcare providers participating in the Medicaid program to examine all accounts and records relevant to the investigation, subpoena witnesses and materials, make arrests, serve search warrants, collect evidence, analyze evidence, conducting interviews, preparing reports and exhibits to include testimony in courts, and collecting evidence for possible use in either administrative, civil or criminal judicial proceedings. This position requires compliance with Florida Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Standard Operating Procedures and applicable Commission on Florida Accreditation Law Enforcement Accreditation Standards. Qualifications: Florida Statute 943.13 requires that any person employed in this class must:(1) Be at least 19 years of age, except that any person employed as a full:time, a part:time, or an auxiliary correctional officer must be at least 18 years of age. (2) Be a citizen of the United States, notwithstanding any law of the state to the contrary. (3) Be a high school graduate or its "equivalent" as the commission has defined the term by rule.(4) Not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement or have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. Any person who, after July 1, 1981, pleads guilty or nolo contendere to or is found guilty of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement is not eligible for employment or appointment as an officer, notwithstanding suspension of sentence or withholding of adjudication. Notwithstanding this subsection, any person who has pled nolo contendere to a misdemeanor involving a false statement, prior to December 1, 1985, and has had such record sealed or expunged shall not be deemed ineligible for employment or appointment as an officer.(5) Have documentation of his or her processed fingerprints on file with the employing agency or, if a private correctional officer, have documentation of his or her processed fingerprin
