Summary The Sr. Physical Therapist is responsible for providing guidance and support to rehab staff in the assigned area. Plans and provides physical therapy treatment for patients in accordance with professional and MLH standards of treatment. Contributes to specific programs and projects supporting the department.Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Education/Experience/Licensure Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy educational program by CAPTE Minimum of one (1) year job relevant experience Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State where work is performed. PREFERRED: N/A N/A N/A SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED: N/A N/A N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the assigned area of practice.:Thorough knowledge of current theories and principles in field of specialty.:Demonstrated ability to interact with peers, medical staff, patients/families and other constituents involved in patient care.:Knowledgeable of the system through which the patient must move in order to obtain care.:Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution:Displays sensitivity, compassion, and respect for people of diverse cultures:Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records. :Demonstrated ability to work independently and to exercise judgment.:Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow. Key Job Responsibilities:Provides guidance and support to staff in the assigned area.:Performs the duties of the Physical Therapist to include patient assessments, treatments, and education.:Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans at various stages and adjusts treatments to maximize outcomes.:Contributes to specific programs and projects supporting the department.:Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. Physical Requirements:Exposure to patient body fluids.:Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.:Ability to read and write to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.:Normal or corrected:to:normal vision, including peripheral vision.:Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 150 lbs., as well as carry up to 40 lbs.:Ability to stand, squat, reach, bend, walk, twist and sit in one place throughout shift.:Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.:Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.:Good hand:eye coordination
