Made Possible.MISSION / SUMMARY:Manage all aspects of quality around the Texarkana Mill's Cupstock Paperboard by providing guidance, implementing improvements and responding to customer issues.JOB FUNCTIONS:Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. * Promote safety and demonstrate safety leadership. * Provide leadership that drives the enhancement of existing procedures and develop new systems/procedures in order to stay ahead of customer expectations. * Conduct research, investigate and respond to customer complaints and issues. Also, assist in development of corrective actions and review effectiveness of these corrective actions. * Have a good working relationship with Customer Technical Service. * Lead Cupstock Specifications efforts and assist in development of new grades and/or testing. * Conduct Daily review of Machine and Extruder Quality Trends and Reports. * Understand board properties, testing, visual defects and end customer expectations in order to provide guidance on to Quality, Production, Sales, and Customer Technical Services. * Follow up on quality excursions to insure that off quality product is not shipped to customers (Assist in determining Start/Stop point of defects). * Work with Quality Systems Manager and the Operating Departments to identify process gaps from best practice and then implements solutions to close those gaps. * Compile and analyze quality testing and process data to determine root cause for quality issues and improvement opportunities. * Confer with quality, production, and/or outside resources to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests. * Develop a good understanding of Mill's Product Lines and their requirements. * Adjusts testing schedule based on data and risk to customers. * Fulfill weekendduty responsibilities which includes visually evaluating production, detail review of quality parameters and reports, dispositioning product, managing lab technicians and handling test and quality issues. * Coordinate cupstock trials using established trial protocols including post trial analyses, recommendations and implementation. * Assist sales and scheduling to help insure that customer orders can be produced as required and are within our manufacturing capabilities. * Review and update ISO documents. * Assist with Capital Projects (data/analysis). * Develop, implement and revise Special Emphasis Production (SEPs). * Coordinate Customer Visits and Present Mill Information. * Participate in Lab Technician Panel Qualifications and continuous improvement in training systems. * Plan and conduct new hire and quality training of personnel as required. * Must document and clearly convey results of work within the mill's work systems.BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE: * 5 years Quality Experience * Bleach board / cupstock related experience, preferred * Proficy (Plant Applications) Administrative experience, preferred * Lean/Six Sigma Training, preferredEDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: * Bachelor's Degree, Engineering or Technical Field, preferred * Experience in Cup Stock Board Industry, preferredSKILLS:Skills include but not limited to the following. * Highly effective communication skills, written and verbal * Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts * Strong leadership skills, i.e. relationship building, commands a business and technical presence * Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software, Excel, Word and Outlook, SAP, with executed project management skills * Administrative, organizational, management and problem-solving skills * Statistical skills - SPC, multivariable testing, measurement system analysis, hypothesis testing * PPR (Primary Production Recording), ParcView, and/or Minitab, preferred * ISO 9001 Experience, preferredSCHEDULE DEMANDS: * General schedule is M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. * Part of weekend duty rotation. * Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8-hours. * Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. * Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. * Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.KEY COMPETENCIES: * Integrity & Trust * Action Oriented * Excellent communication * Dealing with ambiguity * Managing through systems * Organizational skills * Customer Service * Detail OrientedSalary Min: $76,570.00Salary Mid: $102,030.00Salary Max:$127,585.00Graphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
