As the US/Global Forecasting & Insights Leader, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to deliver competitive advantages through the application of end-to-end insights, analytics, and forecasts to the US market. Our mission is to accelerate business impact through insights and capability transformation. This position may require managing contractors and vendors to complete projects but will have no direct reports. Accountabilities: You will serve as a functional subject matter expert in established market and disease areas of interest to the US Commercial team. You will construct patient-based forecast models in Excel that leverage data inputs synthesized from a variety of primary and secondary sources. You will champion the use of local customer insights in strategic and operational decisions across the business. You will also be required to continuously evaluate new quantitative analytics methods, technologies, and datasets. Essential Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university 5+ years of hands-on experience in Pharmaceutical forecasting including building and maintaining pharmaceutical product models. 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience leading qualitative and quantitative primary market research Strong pharmaceutical forecasting experience utilizing epidemiology-based methodologies Familiarity with medical claims (open or closed) or electronic health record databases, IQVIA Rx and sales data, and other syndicated data and how to effectively use these sources to strengthen or build pharmaceutical product forecasts. Experience with MS Office products - Excel and PowerPoint skills. Strong MS Office skills in Excel are critical. Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with strong leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to apply these effectively in cross functional environment. Desirable Skills/Experience: An advanced degree is preferred (Master's, MBA, or PhD)- Ability to manage a diverse range of simultaneous projects, timelines, and priorities with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. Proficiency in extracting and interpreting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as Claims, EMR and other patient level data sets. Advanced modelling skills using Visual Basic, Power BI, SQL+ R or Python are desirable. 3+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Healthcare analytics or secondary data analysis Capability in applying and deploying deep technical skills and knowledge across Insights Analytics & Forecasting functional areas At AstraZeneca's Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit, we are on a journey to bring life-saving medicines to patients.
