Location: Jefferson Family Practice Position: Medical Assistant Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 38 - 40 per week Description: Provides direct and indirect patient care following orders provided by physician/nurse practitioner as appropriate. Provides high quality personalized patient care in a fast paced family practice. Works as part of a team. Experience: EMR systems: 1 year (Required) Vital signs: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (Required) Work setting: Acute care Clinic In-person Medical office Private practice Education and Experience: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Certificate of completion from an accredited school for medical assistants. National certification as a registered or certified medical assistant is required and must be maintained. Minimum of one year's experience in a clinic/doctor's office preferred, but not required. EMR experience preferred, eClinical Works a plus. National Certification issued from one of the following: AAMA - Certified Medical Assistant, ARMA - Registered Medical Assistant, NAHP Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA). Duties (include but not limited to): Provide patient care within the scope of training from medical assistant program and Jefferson Family Practice. Accurate documentation. Patient dismissal with teaching, handouts as provided by physician/nurse practitioner. Maintain supplies, equipment, stocking and sterilizing instruments. Practice OSHA safety standards. Perform procedures such as EKGs and spirometry. Prepare and administer medications and/or vaccines with authorization from physician/nurse practitioner.
