Software Tester - Remote DC Area

JOB TITLE: Software Tester JOB LOCATION: Remote DC area based WAGE RANGE*: $35-40 hrJOB NUMBER: 24-00885REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Overall, 5 years of testing/software QA experience is needed JOB DESCRIPTION: The work is remote, though the client has the right to ask us to be onsite every now and then; thus, preference goes to folks located in the D.C. area (client location is Maryland suburbs) - Overall, 5 years of testing/software QA experience is needed, no preference for domain however, stronger backend is preferred, like the interface testers for TN: o Knows SQL and can read, modify, and write queries. o Understands XML and can read, modify, and write XML files. o Understands JSON and can read, modify, and write JSON files. o Has experience using tools such as SOAP UI and Postman. - Preference for folks who are familiar with automation, ideally the Cypress suite and JavaScript - I need someone who can communicate clearly and speak in meetings if asked to explain a defect etc. - You can also use the below for the broad description of responsibilities Other relevant experience: Experience performing acceptance testing. Experience performing functional testing. Experience performing exploratory testing. Experience performing regression testing. Experience performing functional testing. Experience performing backend database testing. Experience with defect management processes and tools. Experience with writing test plans and test reports. Experience with testing on multiple platforms/environments. Experience using an automated test tool (Cypress) is a plus Experience working collaboratively or teaming with another contractor in a multi-vendor environment. Experience in using quality control processes to ensure that products, deliverables, and data are standardized and accurate. Working knowledge of at least one Section 508 compliance tool a plus.
