RESEARCH ASST I (Student/Work Study) - Biology

Summary The research assistant will work with Dr. Heather Dawson and graduate students on a fish ecology study. Responsibilities* Collect fish from the Flint River and obtain data on fish captured Help prepare some fish samples for contaminant testing Help with acoustic receiver deployments and data retrieval Help with mapping underwater terrain using sonar Required Qualifications* Must be a currently enrolled UM-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing or recently graduated from a UM-Flint undergraduate program and not currently enrolled in a graduate program Must have expertise and interest in outside work Must have knowledge of wildlife biology Must have successfully completed Ecology (BIO 327) Additional Information University of Michigan-Flint - Plan for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion The University of Michigan-Flint's DEI plan can be found at: https://www.umflint.edu/dei/?The University of Michigan-Flint exhibits its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through enacting fair practices, policies, and procedures particularly in support of the equitable participation of the historically underserved.
