Tax ManagerCan you oversee the completion and ensure the accuracy of tax filings and reporting requirements of the Tax Department? We're proud of our more than 80-year commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client/members and creating an atmosphere where our employees thrive.What You'll Do: * Manage tax functions ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial statement tax provisions, federal and state filings, and information reporting. * Review the completion of other miscellaneous tax work including premium, sales and use tax and personal property taxes. * Research tax issues and develop a conclusion. * Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Tax Department. * Stay up to date on changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the organization. * Promote and maintain an adequate internal control system to ensure reliability of financial results. * Ensure internal controls and related documentation are kept up-to-date. * Responsible for staff development through training and motivating. * Plan, assign, monitor and adjust workload of employees as needed. * Assist Director in maintaining an effective tax team.What it takes to join our team: * Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) with 8+ year's relevant experience. * Supervisor experience is preferred. * CPA designation preferred. * Ability to read, write and speak the English language. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capable of dealing with all levels of employees as well as outside professionals. * Applicable experience in insurance industry preferred, but not required. * Results oriented and possesses decision-making and analytical skills. * Ability to work independently and manage a team of professionals to meet target dates including high profile deliverables. * Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn other software applications specific to the job. * Travel is minimal.What We Offer You: When you're on our team, you get more than a great paycheck.
