Description:
A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition, the Registered Professional Nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and the activities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing. The Registered Nurse is able to provide direct and indirect care to patients. Education/Skills Graduate of a State Board School of Nursing or equivalent. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Department -specific competency validation. - Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana American Heart Association BLS - upon hire Current AWHONN Intermediate Instructor led EFM course at time of hire for experienced RNs or within 6 months of hire for new graduate nurses and maintain AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced EFM course certification thereafter.
