R-00135478 Description The Leidos Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talented -Mid-Level Electrical Power System Engineer -candidate to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location. - We have offices across the United States that provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions in the defense, space, cyber, and commercial fields. - The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages leadership and technical growthPrimary Responsibilities: As an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical system designsYou will analyze, design and integrate solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challengesYou will primarily be focused on electrical power system design and integration for the Enduring Shield mobile ground based force protection system, but there are also opportunities to participate in design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for other mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardwareResponsibilities include:--- Perform all aspects of -power system development from developing/deriving requirements to employing appropriate techniques for design, fabrication, integration, and test--- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team engaged in the development of complex power generation, power distribution, and power conversion systems--- Collaborate with suppliers and sub contractors -in the development of complex -power generation, power distribution, and power conversion -systems--- Track, and maintain system power requirements and overall system power budget--- Develop or maintain system interface definitions and resulting documentation (i.eInterface Control Drawings, etc.)--- Oversee the specification, design, and manufacture/procurement of interconnect cabling--- Plan and execute integration and test activities to ensure successful unit, sub-system, and system assembly, integration, and test--- Provide technical -input to program leadership during the planning and execution of engineering projects Basic Qualifications:--- Candidate must possess a -Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.--- Candidate must have at least 4 years of engineering work experience or 2+ years with MS degree.--- Candidate must have a working knowledge of digital/analog/mixed signal electronics, components, and interface/communication standards--- Candidate must have experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation--- Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams--- Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment--- Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods--- Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area--- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications:--- TDP knowledge--- Cable design experience--- Power system design experience--- Component derating experience - Original Posting Date: 2024-05-10 While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed abovePay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only -and not a guarantee of compensation or salaryAdditional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
