Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, provide legal counsel to clients, attend hearings, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team. Duties:Manage a caseload, including client interaction and collaboration with the Criminal Defense TeamAdvise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents pertaining to their caseAttend pretrial hearings, advising clients on strategies following each hearingManage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal researchAnalyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedentsManage workload effectively to ensure timely progress on casesProvide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefitsAccrue additional evidence to support client cases or arguments against prosecution chargesPrepare clients for depositions, determine case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and expertsExperience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levelsCollaborate with associates to strategize and support case objectivesBilingual (Spanish) preferredExceptional interpersonal skills Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolBar admission in CaliforniaShould have experience in Criminal Defense Skills:Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong analytical and research abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamProficiency in legal software and research databasesDemonstrated ability to handle complex criminal cases effectively Benefits:The firm offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent compensation package, paid parking, paid time off, and more.
