General Fasteners Company (GFC) is seeking a Business Development Manager to build relationships and sell inventory management programs to large OEM's across North America. We are a progressive, innovative, stable and constantly growing company that is expanding throughout North America. GFC sells Inventory Management Programs for Fasteners and Assembly Components to large OEM's that want to improve their operating efficiencies and consolidate their supply base. We are a leader in the market; offering a wide range of products, the best engineering design and testing support, and a dedicated staff of seasoned fastener professionals. We need you to drive growth! This position requires a sales professional with a Hunter and Road Warrior mentality looking to take their career to the next level. Do not apply if you plan to develop business over the phone or if spending over 100 nights a year in a hotel is going to be an issue. We need someone in front of customers, closing new sales. This position is not heavily dependent on where you reside, but the Midwest or Southeast US is preferred. The right candidate will enjoy competitive pay and an award winning benefits package. You will represent the following products and services to the industrial, heavy truck, military and automotive markets: Fasteners, hardware, industrial products and sub-assemblies Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs Custom engineering and design support Mechanical testing services Value Analysis/Value Engineering Services Responsibilities include the following: Targeting new accounts for revenue generation Differentiating our offerings by selling our value proposition Negotiating Long Term agreements Interacting with customer's engineering and quality departments Traveling to cover a broad territory with frequent overnight trips Timely reporting of sales calls, itineraries, and expenses This job might be for you if you have these skills and abilities : Excellent prospecting, qualifying, and closing skills Oral and written communication skills Ability to convey complex information to individuals and groups Self-directed with a proven track record of prospecting and closing business Effective communication with cross-functional areas within the organization Able to ascertain and report on competitive information Thrive in a self-directed environment where you have little to no supervision We are looking for these job qualifications: Seasoned sales professional with at least ten years of experience selling to the industrial marketplace and at least five years selling fasteners and related products, preferably via Vendor Managed Inventory programs Possess contacts in the Industrial OEM manufacturing sector, and have proven experience getting in the door and building relationships with new customers Proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel Bachelors degree preferred in a technical or business discipline Want to become part of the team?
