Alcala County Pet Resort We are a leader in the dog daycare and pet boarding industry. We are now looking to add a new daycare attendant to our team who contributes to our positive, fast-paced work environment. We are located at 1273 Crest Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024. Our next staff member can ideally work 9am to 6pm, Monday - Thursday. We have other shifts available. As a family-owned business, our team collaboration encourages a friendly, inclusive feel and lighthearted environment while taking pride in the work it takes to provide high-quality animal care. Working with animals is exciting and rewarding, but we always make safety our number one priority. We treat all pets as if they were our own, giving both individualized and group attention appropriate to each pet's personality, making our large resort-style facility feel like home to all. Responsibilities: Daycare Attendant has the following responsibilities and duties: Cleaning of dog suites Cleaning of cat suites Provide feedings and administering medication One-on-one playtimes with both dogs and cats Laundry and other general cleaning duties Supervision of small and large dog playgroups separated by size and weight. Compensation: $20 - $22 / hourly (starting wage is depending on experience)$1300 - $3500 / monthly Full-time or part-time work is available. Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week. Some staff members may work up to 40 hours per week. 401(k) Dental Insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Bonus opportunities Tips Requirements: Daycare Attendants should have the following skills, education, and experience: We prefer a candidate with prior volunteer/professional experience working with dogs in a group environment, but it is not a requirement. Proven team players, problem solvers, and independent thinkers are encouraged to apply. Excellent understanding of canine behavior, body language, and group play behavior. Candidates who can be leaders and are ready to work hard will be given extra consideration. Strong communication skills, working closely with the training department to ensure a safe and positive environment. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with all breeds and sizes of dogs (we have no breed restrictions). Awareness and vigilance are critical skills in this role. You may be monitoring up to 30 dogs simultaneously, ensuring safe, monitored play. Must be able to be on your feet for up to 4 hours, safely lift 50lbs unassisted, and be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty.
